This plant looks like a Sativa or at least a Sativa-dominant strain, in full bloom. Interesting. Yeah, I'd say 4 more weeks. The plant should be harvested when the capitate-stalked trichomes are opaque. To understand this, get a x30 hand-held microscope ( cheap and available). Look at the buds/smaller leaves. You will see lots of glass stalks with little balls on top of the stalks. These little balls contain the main psychoactive ingredient, THC. Immature girls will have lots of these balls and they will be virtually all crystal clear. As the plant matures, they will turn opaque. This is when you want to harvest. This is when the weed is at its peak potency. As the balls begin to turn amber, this is a sign of degradation when some of the THC will degrade into lesser cannabinoids. Some folk prefer couch-lock; I don't. I'm a fan of the head-high with a little lock mixed in. BTW, pistils turning red/brown is a poor indicator of maturity. Cold weather can turn pistils red/brown and the plant will not be mature. Get a microscope ! A must for any serious grower !
houdini Reviewed by houdini on . mountain plants- are they ready These plants have been growing for about 4 months now in the mountains in New Mexico. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long they think we have left judging from this really shitty picture, but more pics are coming soon, just have to find the cable for my camera. We were thinking about another 2 or 3 weeks Rating: 5
