problem with top leaves

I've checked the temp of my soil and the soil is warm so I think it's not temperature problem but can it be the size of the pot?my plants are 2 feet and a half high and my pot size is 8 inches

I think it's that because when I try to poke some holes I can't it seems they have too much roots!
