How can I Improve my Yield? The answer is...
Here is a summary of my room.
1. Type of grow- hydro NFT (Homemade Areoflow tubes)
2. Age and strain of plants Bigbud, Been growing the same stain for 2 years now
3. Type and ratio of nutes -I use Liquid-earth nutes from FutureGarden.com at the rate of 1200 ppm ph of 5.8 Current NPK of: 178-131-327-??
Nitrate N NO3 155
Ammonium N NH4 23
Urea N NH2 0
Nitrogen N Total 178
Phosphorus P 131
Potassium K 327
Magnesium Mg 0?????????? Trying to find out now
Sulfur S 53
Calcium Ca 113
Iron Fe 6.34082
Boron B 0.00000
Manganese Mn 0.00000
Zinc Zn 0.00000
Molybdenum Mo 0.18494
Sodium Na 0.00000
Copper Cu 0.00000
Chlorine Cl 0.00000
Cobalt Co 0.00991
Silicon Si 0.00000
Selenium Se 0.00000
I also add 2 cups of Activator which is Humic Acid and Soluble Silicon.
I have 5 - 4??x8?? (32 SQ FT) tables with 4 tubes on each table. Plants are spaced 12? On Center
Each Table has Two 1000W HPS Hortalux Bulbs in 6? Vented reflectors Actual reflector measures about 20?? x 16? all reflectors are vented outside.
Each Table is filled with new Plants every 2 weeks SOG One time each cycle I fill 2 tables
Plants of Various ages are all feed the same nutes.
I use ONE 100 Gallon stock Tank for the entire room,
I use a Blu Ox Co2 Propane burner
A 24000 BTU Air Conditioner
A ½ HP Chiller
Now the environment:
Room Temp 75-85 Degrees
Humidity 45%
CO2 1500 PPM
Res Temp 68-75 Degrees
Total control is maintained by a computer (Growtronix).
Average Yield is 1.5 Lbs. a light
I have mother plants of witch I take clones every 2 weeks, Veg them for 2 weeks then into the SOG flower room.
Now the Question: I am still not, nor have I ever hit the .5 gram a watt/30 day mark. I feel the environment is dialed in, I am know thinking I need to change my nute formula, or add additives. What can I do to improve yield? I read on here and on other sights all the time I know there is no magic pill. I don??t want to buy snake oil either. There must be something I can do to improve yield??? The stain of big bud I have came from Greenmanseeds My friends love it, One maybe 2 hits and they are cooked. They don??t want me to change the strain.

Okay, I'm looking at your nutes and noticing that you aren't using a micro. Therefore things like Mn, Zn, Cu, etc are absent, and your plants really need them in hydro since they can't get them from the soil.
FloraMicro or a similar product sould solve that nicely.
Please post to the IBL/stabilized thread in Strains and Seeds with any info you have on Big Bud and its stability. I would be grateful!\"Careful what you carry- \'cause the Man is wise- you are still an outlaw in their eyes\" -Steely Dan

How can I Improve my Yield? The answer is...
If that is the % of nutrients you are giving them you are missing a lot. Raise the humidity a bit as well but have it follow the life cycle of the plant. In veg they thrive under 70% to 80% then drop it 5% a week until harvest.
Next you are feeding the same plants at different life cycles all the same nutrients. That is not a good idea if you want to get the most of them. Early on the life cycle it's important to provide the proper nutrients in the proper amounts. There is no real general formula for every plant there is a guide line but each strain at each cycle of life is a little different and to get the most you should respect those little changes.
