new dreads
OK so i just dreaded my hair today for the first time by the backcombing method, and i thought i knew all that i was doing until i started reading about the maintenance on a ton of different websites and they all seem to vary.
so...., my hair started out about 4 inches long and now that its backcombed its like 2-3 inches long and this includes about a 1/4 or 1/2 inch of hair that is just kinda left over and not backcombed because of the difficulty of getting the tips backcombed. after i backcombed i added wax to my hair, the wax was from the dreadhead site. per the instructions on the dreadhead site i have elastic bands on the tips and tight at the roots. the more that i read i am understanding that the bands at the roots should be a little looser so thats the first thing i will be fixing in the morning...and now i am trying to figure out how to get the tips to be a lot more tightened up instead of just regular hair not being able to be dreaded with the rest of my hair. I also have read alot of opinions that the less wax the better just because it prevents the locking process from taking place even tho it makes it look less frizzy . hopefully i got this right so far.....i would really appreciate any help you guys with more experience can offer up to me because im just a lil conufsed about it all.
so does anyone here happen to know alot about dreading that would be able to help me out? thanks in advanceSPL00G Reviewed by SPL00G on . new dreads OK so i just dreaded my hair today for the first time by the backcombing method, and i thought i knew all that i was doing until i started reading about the maintenance on a ton of different websites and they all seem to vary. so...., my hair started out about 4 inches long and now that its backcombed its like 2-3 inches long and this includes about a 1/4 or 1/2 inch of hair that is just kinda left over and not backcombed because of the difficulty of getting the tips backcombed. after i Rating: 5
