Clone rot

What is causing this? I went out and bought an ezclone to up my success rate but these little guys are still getting rot. It starts with the leaf tips turning brown and wilting usually and then bam! the growing shoot is completely rotted away. temp is seventy five and humidity 50s and 60s. sometimes it seems to attack it from the inside out and then it all turns to mush. It does not have anything to do with the rooting I dont believe cause they grow roots like crazy but still get the rot. If I let the plant sit there long enough the white cotton ball looking mold will start to form around the clones but untill then its just turns black and mushy. Need Help!

How do I remedy the situation? Today I put a very small fan around the little girls thinking that might help. I will also back of sprayin them but I rarely do that anyway. Maybe my basement is just cursed. At least half of them survive though

Is an EZ cloner dishwasher safe?

Anyway you need to sterilize it between uses. A mild bleach solution, washed off well, will kill any mold spores.

The bown rot is what is called an 'embolism', which means you have trapped an air bubble in the vascluar tissue of the stem while taking the cutting. This will eventually rot the stem.

In the future, take your cuttings under water with a new razor that has been wiped off with bleach, and get them into the cloning gel immediately.

when you spray them use a couple drops of h202 in the solution that will help with the rot even starting. You have to add the h202 daily to the bottle as it is no good after 24 hours. also I use a similar cloning device made by american agro. I found that if you dont fan them at last twice a day and spray them with the solution everyday they tend to do that in such I high humidy atmosphere. Also I never leave the dome on for more than the 1st 4 days after that remove it. One other thing as soon as they show even the littlest root I take them out and put them in a little 2x2 ebb table. And my clones only get sprayed with water from the cloning machine twice a day but I use rapid rooter as a medium with the net cups with a little hydroton on top to keep the sprayer from spraying on the leave too much. Yea that definetly helps. This rot seems to affect every single clone in the system eventually. Even the ones that are completely healthy clones that I left in the ez clone untill I have a place for them, they are all slowly getting infected. Makes me fucking sick. I had 50 of them ready to go but now all but a few are left and I fear they too will die. I will try the h20 spray but I still am not sure if I or we have found the cause in this peticular case. Yes, very few clones seem to get rot in a few day and die, but most grow root and flourish for a couple of weeks before succumbing to the black death. Is the ez cloner some how not able to sustain the clones for more than a week or two? I really dont think that is the answer but what ever.

I am in agreement with stinky attic. you are getting air bubbles in some of your stems when cloning... that's embolism...

but it doesnt start in the stem but in the leaves and the edges at that. I do clone under water but I suppose there is room to do it better and more sanitary. Ill keep trying, this problem is new actually. I have always lost a few to this rotting but no where near this percentage.

You'll see signs in the leaves because the rot in the stem is blocking water uptake to the rest of the plant.

it can not be embolism due to the fact it is happening to the ones with roots so they are past the stage of that happening as soon as they show roots take them out and no dome after they show roots that is only used because they have no roots to take up water and nutes once the have them they do not like high humidity

i dunno where this embolism bs came from, but i can guarantee it is just as much a myth as that genetic drift fantasy (pseudo-science performed by not well educated guessers). h2o2 is the stuff for the problem, although if you lighten up on the water, it would help also!
