CFL Cab Grow Log...

nice grow i just finished a cfl grow. 2 plants total yeild almost a half lb, yes half lb. and it was bag seed. used a 105 w cfl, 4 23w cfl, 2 45 w cfls. keep it up...:rasta:

I found a bug on one plant that I believe is eating the leaves. I sprayed with neem oil yesterday after killing the bug. Saw another one tonight killed it as well. I guess Ill keep spraying Neem oil. SO hopfully they will be gone. They are like, minature catapiller shaped bugs. They are Orangish yellow, the longest one i have seen so far is would be about half cm at the most. I believe they are eating the leaves, I always find them on the top of the leafs too. I have yet to see any bugs on the other plants.

you can spray need oil every 5 days or so correct?

I think there looking pretty good regardless. It gets hot somtimes but i think there pulling through it. I think I still overwater too, but they look so dry somtimes ha ha. every 3 days

Is it better to train a plant (LST) during Veg growth or to do it once flowering has started, To make sure its nice and strong?

I want to tie a few down but am not sure if A. its the right time and B. Exactly how everyone wraps the plant down on the pot? Do they have hooks and tie them to wholes in the pot? Or tape them?

Is there a few items I could get form the store? proper string and hooks? etc.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I haven't started to LST yet cause my babies are only 12 days old. But from what I've read they're old enough to start after the 4th or 5th node shows. I plan on using just packing string (cotton stuff I think, cause I've got a lot of it). I was going to use Scotch tape but experimented and found masking tape held a lot better to the pots. But another point is probably tieing like loose bow knots cause you will be untieing and retieing as the plant gets bigger.

can you tell me how you attached the CFL sockets to your cab? I have a bigger space (74" tall, 26" deep, 32" wide) but I'm going to do CFL and I want to attach them to a board or something that I can raise. I have NOOOO iea how to electrical stuff Are there double sockets like yours I can buy that have normal plugs attached that I can just plug in to the power strip?

Cool thanks David I thought about it and decided with my next grow I am going to LST. I topped one though just to see what happens. It looks pretty cool.

I haven't updated in about a week or so. I have worked on the box like mad getting the top part ready. I should have taken a picture befroe the plants were moved to the top part of the cab. the plants were growing right into the lights. I spotted some male Sacs on 2 of the plants. I trashed them and it helped out with space too. I kept one plant in a small pot cuz i want to see what the diffrent yeild will be if there is any at all? perhaps it will make more sense to grow more in smaller pots. I can notice a huge diffrence in growth since they were replanted.

Now the bottom part is my attempt of cloning, I hope it works. If it doesn't ill grow from seed again and try again. I have the rockwell in plane water about1/8 inch deep and i soaked them first. I was scared of adding nutes so i didn't. I cut them under water and dipped them into the cloning gel. I put them in 24 hours ago 2 seem like they are reaching for light and the rest all look like ass. ill see,, I spray the dome and the plants a 2 times a day humidity is like 60 and over under the dome. The temp is 85 under the dome It almost makes me think they would be better off with out the dome The temps then are. 70-80C 45-55 humid. Ill see how it goes.

I bought the cheep sockets and wired it to a shelve that cam with the cab because I had to put the exaust fan in a specific spot. that wouldn't allow me a movable light. I do wish I had one though. hahahah

Here is a pretty awsome link to make a light. Hooking up the regular sockets is very simple duder I sugest reading a quick how to circut on a light. Electricty flows in one direction. Just link all the light sockets together. I belive the sockets cost 1.50 at home depot and the doubler is somthing like 3 bucks.

you could also buy a power bar and plug the light sockets directly into the powerbar. You have to purchase the sockets that have 2 prongs on the back of them to plug into a normal wall socket. And in your case a powerbar. But thats getting pretty sketchy holding that to a board and stuff its bound to fall.


thats it the plants look ok. some leaf problems but they did have bugs and I sprayed 3 times and haven't seen any since. Perhaps that leaf problem is a by product of the little bugs. I dont see it on any of the newer leafs. I also think it could be that these plants haven't gotten enough only 1/8 strength, now its the fourth week. I didn't use anything but water when I repotted 4 days ago and it hasn't dried out yet one more day it will need a soak. A Root has already popped out of the side of the grow bag. I gently put it back in. I think thats a good sign. I am defintly not using grow bags next grow they are messy and not easy to move around a cab.

No One Likes My plants. Or my Bad Clones. Is it ok to try and do Clones In a tuperware container? Or is a black try the best. I had to use the tray for the top of the cab. To make sure no water leaked out.

I thought the plants seemed ok/... Anyone?
