when discussing strains, I think its more important to consider its ORIGIN, as every breeder adds something to the mix, which further confuses things ... true, NL#1, NL#5, etc., have been hybridized with sativas to some extent, over the years, but the original Northern Lights, for example, is a 100% indica first grown out, and named, in Seattle WA quite a few years ago ...
"Northern Lights used to be a 100% indica, specifically a highly inbreed Afghani. It never became stable like Skunk #1 and around 1978 was crossed multiple times with Skunk #1 and Haze in a attempt to stablize it. So therefore nowadays it isn't a 100% indica, just indica dominant."

So if you admit this fact than whats up with the, "northern lights is a straight indica"?

Yes, thats what I was saying the Orginal NL that we knew was a 100% indica. But now-a-days that isn't true as everything from our time has been 'watered down'. It was around 30 years ago to be more specific. Skunk #1, Haze and Northern Lights all came to Europe by clone only females, around 1978. Meaning that the europians had to make seeds by crossing those clone only females with some other local strain, which has been done God only knows how many times. They have continued this system of 'watering down' with most strains out today. Thats why I would not advice buying seeds from European companies if you're looking for a stable uniform consistant strain. Your completely right about strainguides and mostly right about people can name anything plant they want anything. The all the information that I pass on to others is what I know for a fact to be true, I've done all the research on, talk to the experts, (a few in person) and have found to be tried and true before passing on to others. I respect your decision not to get 'into a pissing contest' about this, I feel the same and this will be the last I post about this subject. I hope we can continue to help others (maybe even each other) to grow better cannabis. And you have a nice day as well.
