Yes, kif is just powder, but it is really, really sticky if you rub your fingers in it, so yes, I beat it with a sledgehammer, inside of a plastic bag, so it compacts together. You put the kif inside of a plastic bag, and you fold up that plastic bag so all the kif is compacted into the bottom, or corner of the bag, then you hit the plastic bag that the kif is in, into a flat slab.

Hammers, especially sledgehammers, when you hit a nail into solid wood, you have to imagine that is supreme pressure being hit on there. I use a small sledgehammer, not a big one, just one the same size handle of a reg. hammer.

That's all hash is, is kif pressed under mass amounts of pressure, and a hammer does that, but of course you have to put the kif in a plastic bag, but you compress it all into the corner of the bag, then fold you the plastic bag so that it is really tight, then you pound with a hammer.

You may not believe it, but the hash comes out soft and bendy. It doesn't crumble and fall apart.

I guess you just have to try it out for yourself in order to understand.

how much bud do you need to make enough kif inorder to made a dimebag sludgehammer hash???

If you're going to shake the trichs from the buds, like sift the kif off the buds, than high quality about an ounce, low quality, probably double.

If you do it like i did where I just collect the kif after busting up some greens in a grinder, than like I said, I usually bust up an ounce to get a 1gram slab of hash, which is only about 1/3 full of a dimebag.

Doing this method does create heat though, and the has doesn't come out dark brown. It comes out blonde, which is a different method of pressing, using little to no heat.

The kif is sticky if you touch it, so obviously pressing mass amounts of sticky trichs will create a soft, gum like hash. It's just common sense, you know.

That's one way of doing it, yes. Using mostly heat, instead of pressure.

This way, you're using mostly pressure instead of heat.

They're both pressed, just one is done differently that the other. There is several ways to press hash, one just uses heat instead of pressure, and the other one is just the opposite.

I think the final consistency of the hashish is going to depend on the quality of the kief used.

I have access to about four different grades of kief where I am at. If I buy the really cheap stuff and apply heat and pressure I can make a block of hash that will dry out fast and eventually crumble into powder.

On the other hand, if I buy the more expensive stuff it generally has more of a sticky consistency so I would agree with what you are saying.

However, I think the best way to make hash is to make bubble hash.

Either way, just buy the good black shit from Indians and Pakistanis. It's not that difficult. :smokin:

One way that I have used to press hash out here is taking a good amount of kief and putting it in the corner of a new sock or some kind of similiar material.

Then I boil a little water until it is steaming and place the ball of kief in the sock in the steam for a while. Sometimes I even dip it in the water for a second or two. The heat is just going to add moisture to the powder making it easier to press and more efficiently pressed in my opinion.

After it is exposed to heat, I smash the hell out of the ball with anything heavy I can find. I mean really heavy. Like lift up a corner of your bed or a table and sit on the corner for a few minutes.

Then I let it sit there for a couple hours. And VOILA! a medallion of blond hash. :smokin:
