Friends?

seriously, i never had dare come to my school and EVER talk about how drugs were bad. We had teachers tell us, but never had the dare campaign talk to us.

Ya i have 3-4 close friends one being my best...i used to have like 10-more in highschool, but people change, start getting into harcore drugs, and some kids just CHANGE. I had a best friend stabe me in the back....but hes in jail now...then i noticed how some other friends just seemed to be around only for the bud.

Some just dont know how to grow up either....so i broke off from the ones i couldnt trust and the ones that werent going anywhere(i tried helping them get started with there life)...i mean you lose friends but you always gain em,,,,if you aint TOO weird, lol

I used to feel that my friendships we unbalanced. I saw that I provided more for them than they did for me. I have always been a better friend than I had returned to me when needed.
But it was my ego talking and placing expactations on them and desiring control of aspects of a relationship that should not need controling.
As long as there is mutual benefit in a relationship it doesnt matter who does more for the other or who shows more loyalty. I cannot expect them to be more like me can I? No, thats an obsurd thought. But , one that causes rifts and prevents many a person from enjoying what they have in front of them.
A friend is not an extention of ourselves but , go figure, a seperate person.
When expectations are not met it erodes our good feelings towards others and prevents us from sharing openly and drawing on the pool of enrichment offered.
So, now I expect nothing, I demand nothing, and I offer openly. Because if I react with ego, I do not change who they are...I change who I am.
And that, my friends, is not benefitting anyone and the only one hurt is me.
So, to answer your question, I am perfectly happy with my friendships.
I am open to more always and I do not remember "trespasses" and injury because I fel it takes away from me not them.
Even on these boards...I have read and commented on some pretty ignorant things some have said and done but I forget it and move on.
I might have disliked something someone said or did but it does not affect how much I love each and every one of you simply for being you.
I love everyone and dont reserve this for people who are more like me or act like I feel they should act.
Unconditional love friends....thats what its all about.

now I realized that it was partially my fault for the demise of some of my friendships

I have a weird group of friends but we are all really close

some I hang with everyday

some I see once in a while

I don't trust too many people, mainly 5 people, including my bf and my ex

i'm content with what I have, they keep me in place of things

we are all very different from each other but we share common ground

Ya know, for about 3 or 4 years now ive been so unhappy with my friends. non of them get me. they dont understand me, they dont accept me for being me, I always feel like an outsider to them. I do so much for all of them, I drive them places, buy them stuff, always avoid drama as much as humanly possible, but they just seem to love to give me shit about anything. I'm 24, so I've seen so many friends come and go, and there was only one that actually stuck around. I don't see him much because difference of lifestyles, but we're had a lot of good memories, sometimes blurry ones, even a few bloody ones, but we still talk to each other. He's a friend, just not an everyday friend.
