How do you think America will end?
Revolution. LAWLLRSKATES! The law will break it up as soon as one begins to organize. We're all under surveillance now. Revolutionaries will be considered terrorists and treated as such. Not gonna happen.

Actually, we don't need a 'revolution' in the classical sense of the word. Our system is set up so that power can change hands without one. Great way to do business, huh?
All we have to do is think alike and get off our lazy asses and VOTE! But that's a fuckin' bitch, isn't it? Must be cuz only baptists and grandparents seem to do it.
So here's what we do. Instead of taking off for some dead presidents birthday, or the Easter Bunny, whatever....make Election Days national holidays...<if you vote! Everybody and his brother will be at the polls , guaranteed. Laws and politicians would change...guaranteed. Of course we might end up with Britney Spears as President, but that remains to be seen, and at this point I'll take her!...lol

True, we don't need a revolution...yet. But I made a prediction for one in the future, based upon the theory that the slow erosion of our rights happening now continues on into the future. If Bush gets replaced with someone competent in 2009, and this country starts to turn around, then yeah, no revolution needed, and I hope this is what actually happens.
If not however, who knows how long until only certain people are allowed to vote, if anyone at all?

Election day is very important, but the average working person is denied a fair chance to participate.
They force you to do jury duty, but you're not able to vote. Nice.

Egypt was #1, Rome was #1, China was #1, Britain was #1, France was #1, Russia was tied for #1, and on and on.
I doubt America will ever just disappear from the map, but to think we will remain on top forever is literally a pipe dream.

If voting actually changed anything, it would have been made illegal decades ago.

And she was absolutely right. Voting new leaders into the system and expecting them to correct the evils inherent in the system is absolutely absurd. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that politicians do what is in their best interest, generally not giving a crap about what people think after the election bit is all over. And what is in their best interest is staying in power, staying rich and in general keeping the status quo. They will only make enough concessions to keep the masses from ousting them out of power. Therefore, if we want to really get anything done, we need to threaten politicians with loss of their power and, in my opinion, we should follow through on that threat.
