^ right about that. you need to light proof your rez. dont veg them too big since it is such a small area its going to get crowded.

I'm guessing you dont use a ph meter? Or a ppm meter? Youre plants are stretched to the point of falling over. A 400w should be within 8" of the tops. They dont look too good....sorry. I doubt you will get a harvest from those. There seems to be a mg shortage way up to the top leaves, caused by a ph lockout i'm sure.

Lights in the tray are not your biggest prob with these plants. Study up on ph and ppm, its really addictive once you understand all the technical crap, haha. Good luck

that was my friends plants a few days ago. He doesn't have a ph meter you are right, but one is coming in the mail. BTW these were given to him not in the best shape as clones.

They were under sized, over sized, placed sideways in rockwool, and some even had spider mites as they were outdoor mothers. I didn't know about the resivoir having to be light proof, it makes sense but since it has been mentioned scantly so I will take it with a grain of salt. Besides you guys could be a little more supportive.

yea those plants are stretching a whole lot
get some mylar and put it all the way around the lights and plants as close as possible
    a 400 watt MH/HPS i found works best with about 4 or 5 plants
so yea get some mylar and consider getting rid of some of the plants that arent doing to well (stretching alot, burning, or the clones that had the mites) your results will be way better if you didnt have so many plants to get the light out to

They dont look to hot...but honestly Ive seen way worse and still produce. Worth your time as much as starting with good healthy clones? Well no but hey, its still product and a learning experience.

Whats the heat like in the room? Make sure you keep that res covered and below 72 degrees. Water temp is the biggest killer of hydro. And yeah, thats a lot of plants for 400 watts.

Finally, might I just mentioned that:

Some say that comets will fall from the sky
followed by meteor showers and tidal waves
followed by faultlines that cannot stand still
followed my millions of dumbfounded dipshits
SOME say the end is near...some say well see armagedeon soon
certainly hope we will...I sure could use a vacation from this...stupid shit!
