hair is lost during chemotherapy because on the intense heat created it is this which kills off the follicles a french chemist called marcel contier was doing reserch on a cold cap which is basicly a shower cap filled with ice to cover the scalp worn during and immediatley after chemo. greatly reduces follicle damage
