If you grow in a basement can u see heat from a chopper?

Just wondering because police can use the infra red camera to detect heat from lofts/attics which is the top floor.

SO if you grow in your basement they surely cant see the heat through the upper 2 floors can they?

no they can't see it 2 levels down, but if you have thin walls to your basement theres a chance. But you're saving grace is that the basement is the coolest level in a house, more than likely its stays a few degrees colder than the upper levels. So everything will appear completely norml. (been growing in my basement for decades, no problems.) Also if your still worried about it they have a handy little product called polyshield. Check it out.

Yeah just wondering because I am working at a house with 3 floors and a basement. The basement is half used and half it is blocked up with only 1 small hatch to get into it. The part that isnt used is also broken up into 2 and you would never know the other part existed because the entrace could be easily hidden. I only found it because I was relocating pipes down there. I just thought at the time it must be one of the best places to grow because the walls are very thick there is absolutely no reason to go down there, even if someone got into the hatch it would be so easy to cover up the opening to the secret part. It is about 8 foot long 5 wide and atleast 5 foot high.

It is just perfect I really want the house lol. I mentioned it to my mate on the job who had been down there he had the same idea lol.

If you're talking about anyplace in the U.S., they could see the heat signature of twenty 1k lights and not be able to do anything. The Supreme Court has already ruled that thermally imaging a person's house IN AND OF ITSELF constitutes a search, and is thus invalid without a warrant. In other words, if they already have a warrant, they could thermally image your home, but they can't use thermal imaging to get a warrant. And if they already have a warrant, it's much cheaper and easier to send five guys to your house and tear it apart than it is to send up a helicopter with thermal imaging equipment.
