WORST JOB YOU EVER HAD ?
My very first job was probably my worst. It was a local pizza shop ran by this Greek guy (who actually sounded like someone in the mob..he was very sketchy). To start off, everything was paid to me under-the-counter. He did not take taxes out of my money at all which came across to me as quite strange. I was also in high school at the time and he had me working every day monday through saturday 5:00 - close (I didn't get out of school until 3:30 so it barely gave me any time to even do homework). The guy didn't want to give me a day off even for prom when I told him about it 3 weeks in advance. I told him about some other dates I was obligated to leave (some of these 3 - 4 months in advance) and he told me he couldn't give me it because it was "asking for too many days off" (there were about three dates). They had me washing dishes and didn't believe in something such as a break. This really fat red-headed rude lady was the one in charge of training me. She told me that if I wasn't washing dishes I had to be cleaning off counters, cleaning pans, cleaning out the fridge, or cleaining the fryers. I also had to sweep and mop alone. I couldn't sit down for even 5 seconds without someone saying "quit being lazy and get back to work" although they're stepping outside for cigarettes (something I didn't like too much). The final straw was when the last night I was there I was mopping the floor and my nose began to bleed (it sometimes does during extreme stress, it's supposedly hereditary) and said to excuse me while I go clean up. When I got back, I got bitched out by the fat lady saying "It's not fair to the other employees for them to have to do your share of the work." therefore I quit, after only four days, and refused to even list them as a previous job experience (they'd never remember who I was because the guy who owned the place asked me the second night I was there "Have you worked here before? I think I've seen you." I said "No" and he walked off after another employee confirmed I wasn't him.)

WORST JOB YOU EVER HAD ?
I was a Jr. "Stink Sucker" at Monsanto chemical plant in Houston. I forgot the official title- Environmental Assurance Control Associate or something- but that's what we were essentially, stink suckers.
This plant processed petroleum, acids, and all kinds of nasty stuff that made even nastier byproducts. Well this gaseous waste would get piped from the units that make the chemicals to waaaay back to the back of the plant where no roads pass so no one sees that NOTHING grows there, where the pipe ends and gas is let out. Well what we did, as Jr. Stink Suckers, was to essentially put our mouth at the end of the pipe, and inhale what came out of it before it's let out into the atmosphere. I don't know what was in it, but it tasted like burning tires, and I remember the year I got that job was the year my body stopped growing. And I think it helped fuck up my teeth too.
I thought it would get better once I made Sr. Stink Sucker, but all that meant was that I get to make the schedule and assignments in the morning, decide which Jr. Stink Suckers are assigned to which pipes, and some other administrative and supervisory duties, but mainly you still get the end of a pipe most of the day because I'm a "working foreman" whatever the fuck that means, not a regular foreman like the carpenters and pipefitters have. It basically means I'm a glorified Jr. Stink Sucker... except now (as of sept 97) I make $5.15 an hour instead of $4.75 doing it.
Moral of the story? Work hard, dedicate, and really apply yourself, and one day YOU TOO might be pimping to work in a certified pre-owned 2005 Hyundai Accent.

Anyways...the reason why I ask you this, is because my worst job ever starts with the fact that I was working with this company called Monsanto.
Well anyways...Iowa is like a huge corn state. I'm 22 years old and I decided this past summer that I would like to make some extra cash.. My friend told me that I could detassel and make like 1000 bucks over a couple of weeks in the summer. I was like right on, a thousand bucks, not bad.
Right....For those of you who don't know, detasseling is the act of making hybrid corn. Say you have a fast growing corn and a sweet tasting corn, you would pull the tassel (which is the part that pollinates) off of one of the types so the other would pollinate it.
Anyways...Well my job as a Monsanto detasseler was to walk down corn rows and pull the tassel off of every plant. It took place in the end of july, which is like the hottest part of the summer. And inside a cornfield it is 15 degrees hotter than outside the field.
You had to wake up at 4 in the morning and meet a schoolbus to ride to work...
The average row was 2 miles long, and you just turned around and went back, up and down up and down all day long.
The mud goes up to your knees at times and the cornrash is horrible.
(Cornrash is when the leaves basically give you little papercuts all over)
Even though it's like 100 degrees outside, you have to cover every part of your body to prevent it.
In the morning the leaves are wet, so you're completely soaked.
It gets so hot, that people puke and pass out.
Anyways...most people quit, and there's not many left at the end of the 2 weeks..
But I stayed and finished, and although it was horrible and I made it through and never passed out, and I am kinda proud that I didn't quit.
