    Wisdom Teeth And Smoking

In general, you shouldn't smoke. However, if you decide to, you'll generally be OK as long as you keep your mouth clean...immediately brush teeth and rinse out after smoking. You do have to be careful of 'dry socket' and report any abnormal, acute pain to your dentist.

    Wisdom Teeth And Smoking

I got one wisdom tooth out like a year ago and noone said anything about not smoking to me! I smoked cigs and bud AND took Percocet and I am still alive today! One word of advice: rinse your mouth out with salt water twice a day to deter any nasty bacteria!!!

    Hey JR!

+1 on Salt Water and rinsing, or Cepacol, or Hydrogen Peroxide. Anything meant to be antibacterial.

I'd wait at least a week. Dry socket is a bitch, trust me, it's not worth smoking for.

my buddy got his wisdom teeth pulled about a week and a half ago and he started smoking weed right away. He also continued to smoke a pack a day and he had no problems.

The dentist didn't warn me about not smoking so I blazed right away with no ill effects.

Think about the alternative, though, of possibly getting an infection or having to go back in for a cleanout procedure, then having to delay smoking even longer.
I absolutely admire every post Birdgirl makes... always has an answer, and I'd trust anything coming from a pre-med student over a random stranger

all i know is that if you do smoke when your not suppose to it is very harmful... and can get infected or dry socets.

So anyone here know or have to experience getting their wisdom teeth taken out? And how long did you wait until you smoked?
