That's very interesting. I thought the separate cycles were essential to all higher plants. But it makes sense; if you can veg 24 hours...
    Thanks!

I don\'t claim to know the first thing about growing anything; hell, I can\'t make a Chia pet sprout.

Well, you're thinking of the kreb cycle and then the calvin cycle (aka light and dark reactions). They are actually light dependent and light independent reactions, not necessarily requiring dark, just nor requiring light. But yeah, some things require darkness (flowering, obviously), and some plants require darkness to uptake co2, but the actual food production of the plant goes on indefinitely under light I believe. I could have given you a step by step of what products were made and how like a year ago, but I've smoked a lot of weed since college biology lol. Here's a pic

The net is that the plant uses more CO2 than O2 and has a net INTAKE of CO2 and net OUPUT of O2. But you can still suffocate the plant or at least retard its growth by depriving it of either of those.
Oh yeah, I forgot. The o2 used during those cycles isn't from the air. It comes from the splitting of water into H+ and o2 during the first cycle
