    wow...

ok first there were prescription drug commericals that didn't give you even a clue into what it does, or it's so vauge 'everyone has it' (in the words of a comedian i can't remember right now, think it was CR "do you go to bed at night and wake up in the morning? 'HOLY SHIT THEY FOUND ONE I HAVE, I NEED THAT DRUG!'") ... well...

now i just saw a damn movie commerical that doesn't even tell you what the movie is about, little miss sunshine, fo rthose who havent' seen it, starts with a yellow van pulling into a parking lot, getting some kid to jump in the van and from there on out it's just a bunch of 'signs' on the road commerating how 'good the movie is' such as showing two thumb up signs and so on....

just thought i'd post about this shit, it's irritating how commericals are telling you less and less, and that you just need it, or need to buy it, or need to eat it, or need to see it ect. ect.

Actually I think that one's about a very disfunctional family going on some road trip, or something like that. I've seen a longer, more detailed commercial for it where they at least mentioned a family that is an odd one to say the least. I might have seen a longer preview when I saw Taladega Nights, but I can't remember shit b/c I was so high. But I get you with the advertising thing. They just leave most out and drop a little hint so you're so curious you end up going to see it purely out of curiousity.

    Damn you Hollywood! ~

    Haha, God, no.

    That one looks terrible.

It's this one, and I think it looks kind of good. Well, at least interesting.

Little Miss Sunshine seems like an indie flick on the big screen, if that makes sense. I don't know, it really doesn't describe the movie because from what I can tell, there's no plot to really go into. It's about a family and I think they're going on a road trip like Its A Plant said. I think it looked good though, I dig the filming.

I just saw that "Little Miss Sunshine" ad tonight. It was just a bunch of fast cuts of vehicle action scenes from that movie, but it's true, it didn't tell you anything. I don't think its intent was to do so--only to pique interest.

We saw that movie last weekend, and it's actually quite good and funny. Particulary in light of all the recent news again about Jon Benet Ramsey and child beauty pageants. A very strange family takes a very strange roadtrip in an old van to one of those pageants. Hilarity ensues. But it's not the stupid laugh-track sort of predictable comedy. It's funny because it's about funny, weird people. Definitely has an indie sort of black comedy feel.
