Taoism is fine when taken with a grain of salt. A lot of it is about conformity, (metaphorical or not) and I just can't agree with that. However, the ideals are neat and it's a great study topic.
I'm also more of a Buddhist myself.

I'm a taoist...at least I believe in everything the Tao Te Ching teaches, but I can't really say I'm a practising taoist because that is hard to do. Someday, maybe when I'm a little older and a little wiser. I guess you can't really practise taoism either. It's more of a way of living...

there great for your own well being, as is buddhism... I have understood Taoism more since smoking, it is the ever present everything we have... live in.... with great teaching from teachers such as Lao Tzu, one can further appreciate life.....
if you understand Taoism, then you are one step further than anyone else, the fully comprehend the Dao is impossible.....
If you understand Hinduism.... the meanings of Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma... the deep rooted examples of what they actually serve, FEAR is never existent then....
If you understand buddhism you understand awareness, if you understand awareness, you become familiar with ESP... if you are familiar with ESP you would know hypnosis.....
all great subjects, i have read on all of these, and hope to TEACH, as i hope to LEARN.....
One never stops being a teacher, and One never stops learning
Take it EZ

I like taoism , buddhism and a few other philosophies but never buy completely into some of the most esoteric claims made by some of the different branches of such. (some sounds like double talk/double think)

i think its deffinatley double think double talk, but when you go through that yourself you could feel a real connection and come out with enlightenment, becuase when the going gets tough the tough get going...

Take a course in interpreting the bible? You mean by a literalist or someone who doesnt take it literally? And which text exactly? The ones that were lost or ignored by the Council (nicea) or what? Which ones are true which ones are false. Your an interesting fellow yourself but ive had live one on one discussions with actual biblical scholars and theologians and they cant agree so what would some penny anny course in a christian school teach me other than that someone not educated on the subject can teach whatever they personally believe?
I'll stick to the archeologists, anthropologists and the linguists who actually have a leg to stand on because they have that pesky thing that so many religious people hate to recognize. What was that word again...evidence...
Pssst I dont get most of my info from that one site , its usually books and discussions with professors
