I have to differ from my buddy GK. Before I bought the real stuff because of the high metal 187ppms in my well water, I always had to add alot of vinegar. we both know the pro stuff blows it away, but when you are out...you are out.

I bought a nice reverse osmosis unit off ebay and that alleviated the metals problem...goodluck

How much is a lot..

Usually I use about 1/2 teaspoon (vinegar) for a 5 gallon bucket of 8.0 water. I considerthis VERY VERY little

KNowmy...I think I had to ADD several tbs...that was a long time ago...phdown cost 6-8 bucks...once I bought it, I haven't used home substitutes. And 1 qt has lasted me over a year...

i just picked up some gh ph down, how mcuh you guys using to a gallon to drop it to 5.2?

jesus i found out how much to add this morning...let me tell you i was quite shocked on how well this shit works

ph on first bucket was 6.2

added 2 ml of gh ph down

droped it to 3.9....lmfao....

so i dumped it and started a fresh batch of nutes and shit....this shit does not take a any time at all to drop the ph, its instant really all a little stir well check ph add a little stir check ph

ended up taking 1ml to bring 2 gal of 7.5phed water to 5.2

5.2 is way too LOW!!! Optimum ph for hydro is 5.8, but can be varied during flower from 5.4-5.9 if you know what you are doing.

Who told you to ph @5.2?

its sitting at 5.6 now, i added some fresh tap to the res an hour after i typed that....lol...

generally my ph sits at 5.4-5.9 usually in between. its almost alw ays at 5.6-5.7 tho

good looking out tho and i apreciate the advise....:thumbsup: :dance:
