    CLONING: how many, from leaf?

I'll make this quick, just two simple questions:

    1) How many clones can I expect to make from one M39-strain tree which is in constant vegging?

    2) Can I make clones from just the leaves, without the whole branch thing?

    Thanks

i dont exactly know how many clones from that strain u can expect, but no u cannot clone just the leaf, slice it at the node its growing from, then use some rooting formula an a rockwool cube, look that strain up on google though, theres a shitload of info there

I would guess 20-30 is normal from a full growing mother plant.

Check the FAQ on cloning but you can't clone from a leaf.

You technically CAN clone from a leaf using the tissue culture technique. You could end up with thousands of clones from one donor plant, but there's a catch of course.

You have to be able to work in a fully sterile hood with sterilized equipment. Basically, have access to a cleanroom or lab.

What growers usually refer to as cloning is actually not exactly cloning, it is propagation by cuttings, for which you need a whole shoot with nodes, where the undifferentiated cells that have the potential to form roots are.

The tissue culture technique uses just a piece of leaf and places it in sterilized agar, where cell division continues and the cells then over the course of a couple months slowly start growing an entire new tiny plantlet, complete with roots, stem, and leaves.

Google it! Very cool. I'd like to hear if any growers are doing this. Regular cloning is so much simpler though...

More than that, you need agar medium to grow them. What you do in an EX Cloner is technically not cloning in the strict sense of the word.
