most likley fungus knats, they like moist soil.make sure you are letting your buckets dry between waterings also if you put a layer of perlite over the top of your soil will help also.

Well i was told that the adult ones u shouldnt worry about but u should worry about the eggs on the soil in a quick chat with Garden Knowm i was told that the little fellas that come out of the eggs feed on ur plants roots......in order to avoid this i was told in another quick chat with Psycho4Bud that u can cook ur soil in the hoven in a cookie sheet at 240degrees for about 20 minutes and that should take care of future probs....i havent tried it (i will soon) but comming from such a reliable source i know that i´ll have no problems...

yeah i read that there wasnt much you could do because the problem was the larva. Im going to let the plants totally dry out (with moderation) in the next week so hopefully that erradicates the larva and the actual flys can try and lay some more but ill be done by then. Im throwing away that shitty MG soil. Im going to my parents house and using compost. Its the best shit since sliced bread. Actually nevermind im goin dwc. Thanks people

Put diatomaceous earth on your soil. Not in, on.

I had small black fly's. I used safers Insecticidal Soap. It will kill fly’s on contact. I also soaked the soil with it because the fly's liked to burry in it.

You must do this several times and wash the plant after a few hours.

This is good soap because it is not bad for plant at all. It is actually not poisonous to humans either, I just wouldn't want to smoke it.
