LMAO soul distortion. It's interesting to see both perspectives; being a girl who used to never wear makeup. Many girls go all out and think they have to buy every single piece of cosmetic device known to woman to make themselves feel appreciated and valued, and others, like myself, use makeup EXTREMELY sparingly. The most I'll do is eyeshadow (nude colors) and mascara, but not nasty clumpy thick mascara. Maybe foundation if my skin is a bit odd looking. But I'd much rather have the less physically attractive guy than the "hot" abercrombie and fitch wannabe douchebag. I actually prefer the nerdy kind of guy who wears Family Guy t shirts and doesn't shave, but is nice and funny as hell. Humor is #1.

nice, that sounds like ME! except i have the advantages of the abercrombie and fitch guy too, without the douchebaggery! actually i dont, but i am funny as hell. I really respect the fact that you use make up so sparingly. thast very smart because as every great guitarist knows: the best effects are the ones you dont notice, that slight echo that makes my guitar solos sound awesome that you didnt even know was there until i turned it off. Subtly is beautiful. I shouldn't remember that make up even exists when i look at a girls face. I want to say, wow, thats a gorgeous girl, not wow, thats a lot of make up.

If I'm going to a party or something where I want people to think I look nice I just wear eye liner. For going to work and class and everyday things I dont wear anything because make up costs alot and takes too much time to put on and I would rather use that time to sleep in. and my boyfriend doesnt seem to mind so thats the way its going to stay.

I'd say this whole make-up thing is a product of the media.
Someone said it was 'pretty' to be wearing pounds of make-up and suddenly everyone had to wear it.
I honestly do wear makeup from time to time but not all the time to the point where people are so used to the makeup that not wearing it will be such a big deal.
I think theres alot of pressure on girls to be a 'proper' girl. I don't think it makes them fake. Fake all comes in personality and in most cases, lots of make up = lots of fake personality.

You know, this can all be proven with simply math.

let us say males=M and females=F

Assumption 1: The average female wears makeup

based on this assumption its safe to say that if we took an average male (M) and an average female (F) off of the street, the female would have makeup and be in her normal state, the guy would be relatively well groomed and in his normal state. but one key variable makes women different and that is little 'm' which is of course the universal variable constant for make up.

so we have a man who's attractiveness is equal to 75%

M + nothing = 75% attractiveness

and we have a woman, who's attractiveness is also 75% (they are average aren't they?)

F + m = 75% attractiveness

notice the extra 'm' variable, the removal of the make-up variable causes the equation's total to drop an astounding 50 percent or more. (you all know what I'm talking about

In conclusion: Men are more attractive beings. with the addition of even the slightest amount of 'm' we could far surpass 100% attractiveness making us all gods with faces carved from angels.

basically all men have to do is shave and women will find us attractive sometimes we dont even have to do that

but women have to do more things to feel attractive and good about themselves (does that make them insecure?) but if they never did in the first place then we wouldnt know about make up and would care about it and we would just think that women naturally look good without it just like men, because your not used to seeing us wear make up because we dont do it but if we did and then we suddenly stopped you would think all are unattractive

The western world is a makeup wearing culture. thats just how we are. every culture is differnt and people follow after the trends of their culture.

Makeup? False appearance? See Worthy? Makeup is shyt. Makeup is war paint. Make up is what you do when you get out of bed; you make it up (the bed) because your sleepy ass been tossing and a turning all night. Make up is what you do when the reality is grim; you make shyt up to make reality great again. Makeup should be called Telling Lies/Cloaking the Truth. The title of the thread will then apply. But this is just IMO

War paint is used when one is goin to do battle. War paint is camoflage. Makeup is worn to fight a man's negative opinon on a woman's ugliness while out on the battlefield. Some girls NEED it, but I prefer those who do not.
