    Ready to Go?

ALRIGHT. Just got my light. All I could afford was a 400 Watt HPS, but I know that you can grow nice plants with this. So I need to know where to go from here..
Ive got a small closet about 8ft High, 2.5ft wide, and a little over 4ft long.
I wanted to use a bubbler, but I dont want to wait for gay ass pumps to come.. I just want to start, BADLY. Oh and theres the fact Im really low on cash.. I think I can scrap together enough for soil, ferts if I need them.
Ive got a small fan, really small, about six inchs, but it puts out enough air. Then of course ventalation. For right now I plan just to check on them frequently to keep the air moving, my room has air moving all the time.. fans, air condtioners... just air moving everywhere around the place.
Distance between the light and plant? Im thinking.. 4-6 inches? maybe??
Im such a noob at this.
Any inexpensive, no leaving home, if possible, ways to help me out would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

    Thanks much-

Just try and give your plants a good airing by opening the door at least once a day to let some fresh air in. The fan's a good idea too just to keep it cool.
With regards to how close to put your lamps just try the easiest test -put your hand under the lamp at plant level. If you're feeling discomfort then chances are your plants will be too.

with a 400 wat hps 8 inches would be as close as i would let the plants get. i have the same type of lamp and i let em get 16 inches awayand then top em so they wont get to tall.
