ya i agree with letting it soak but if it is really clogged run luke warm water through it and that will get the majority of the stuff out of it quick

Trust me, guys. Mouthwash. It doesn't even taste bad, or smell bad. If you have a really tough clog (which we all do) use a big bowl of mouthwash (the shit is cheap, don't be skimpy) and microwave that shit. i have always used nail varnish remover, how often do you guys clean your pipes? (that sounds very dirty lol) i smoke every night and clean it every 2 weeks or so, you?

Okay, I'm seeing a lot of toxic substances being used on pipes in this thread, bad juju, try a non toxic cleanser like Simple Green, soak it overnight, rinse well(till you can't smell it anymore) and voila, good as new.

oh, and if you have the slightest crack in your piece, don't use alcohol, it will make the crack spread.

try 409....i swear to god that shit just eats resin away...and all other grime....i can get my pipe totallly resinated scrape all that's good then soak it over night in full strength 409 and then use some q-tips the next day and just wipe away all the gunk...looks brand new..works with bongs too....just make sure it's filled all the way up and have some kind of baby bottle cleaner or somthing to do some mild scraping then rinse and this is important.....wash afterwards no matter what you soak in liquid dish soap. HAND WASHING ONLY seeming as i don't know how bongs and pipes will hold up in a washing machine but 409 will leave a very unwanted, untasteful, and very sickening residue

That's why I told you to use mouthwash. And you microwave the mouthwash, not the bowl. Put the bowl in some hot mouthwash, put it in a tupperware container for a few minutes... it'll be clean as a whistle and you won't have to scrub very much. Plus, NO SICKENING RESIDUE.

409, nail polish remover, simple green? ALL of that shit is bad to burn and inhale. At least mouthwash is like 98% alcohol, very little left behind at all.

Actually, Simple Green is non toxic, you can drink it(not recommended) and if you rince the pipe thoroughly, it's perfectly safe. When I was a diesel mechanic, the district rep for the company that makes it came to my shop to do a demo, he drank 4 ounces of it, and other than a horrific taste, he suffered no ill effects.

Mouthwash will do the trick too, although I'm not sure if an alcohol based cleaner is the safest thing to microwave, since when it's heated the alcohol becomes very flammible.
