Vaporizers A Mini Guide

I thought I would share a few thoughts about vaporizers having owned 1 for a long time and researching about them. There seems to be a few threads about them usually asking questions.

So 1st things first.

Vaporizers are the most healthy way to use cannabis (among other herbs). Of course eating cannabis is healthy for the obvious reasons (no combustion), but it is very difficult to control the dose.

Vaporizers are much more efficient compared to most other ways of injestion. Compared to a joint which loses most of the active ingrediants through the process of burning the herbs. Since you only use what you want it saves alot of money (trust me I have halved the amount I have used).

There are 2 types of vaporizers. The 1st and less efficient vaporizers use conduction to heat the herbs. This is a less efficient way compared to convection. Conduction is where heat is transmitted to the herb through contact with something hot (namely a small metal plate/bowl).Convection is where heat is transmitted to your herb by heated air flowing over it. Convection is a much more efficient way to heat the herb because it heats the whole of the bowl of herbs compared to conduction which heats the herbs which are in direct conttact with the heating plate.

There is so much choice in the vaporizers world it can be very confusing to get want your after. The cheapest way to get into vaporizing is by making a "light bulb" type (there are many guides on how to make them). This is the cheapest way to vape if you make it yourself its free but you can buy them ready made for about 15 quid ($30) if not less.

Another cheap way of vaporizing is by buying a cheap vaporizer that uses conduction to heat the herb. The most famous conduction type vaporizer is probably "The Blue Meanie". These vapes are obviously more expensive than the light bulb vape. Retailing for anything between 30 and 60 quid ($50-$100) Heres a few examples of conduction vapes.

The next up is a cheap convection vape. These are much superior to any conduction vape there is. I would personnally never buy a conduction vape. I have tried many and have been disappointed everytime. Examples of cheaper convection vapes are the Vapureyes (www.vapureyes.com) I have this one and am very happy with it, it seems to be underated or totally forgotten altogether. Another example is the Vapolution (http://www.vapolutionvaporizers.com/). The cheaper convection type vapes start at about 80 and finish about 200 quid.

The best has been left for last, it is of course the Volcano Vaporizer. Everyone that buys this vape is bound to be bowled over by it (literally lol).

Probably the only flaw with the Volcano is the price about 550 dollars. A lot of dough but worth it if you have the money.

When buying a vape set yourself a price limit and consider these points-

# What is the Warm up time?
# Does the Vaporizer come with a Warranty?
# How efficient is the Vaporiser? (conduction vs convection)
# What type of heating element does it have?
# What does it look like, how big is it?
# Of Course Price
# Type of vaporizer: Convection or Conduction, forced air? bag system?

Where to get a Vape?

Online there are many websites selling Vapes.

A few examples are:

www.ebay.co.uk
www.everyonedoesit.com
www.vapouriser.com
www.vaporwarehouse.com
www.grasscity.com

So there it is. There are vaporizers for everyone the cheapest being very cheap and the most expensive being alot of money. Convection wins over conduction everytime and if you have the cash to buy one you will be rewarded many times over.

Questions or Myths?

Will using a vape save money?

Yes it should do if used correctly because it only releases the active ingrediants and because there is no combustion all the active ingrediants are left unscaved by fire. It is also cost effective because it is very easy to control the amount in the "bowl".

Does it give you a different high?

That depends on herbs that you use but many vaporizer users prefer the high to that of traditional methods, saying that it doesnt produce the couch lock usually associated by smoking cannabis.

Why is it more healthy?

Thats simple because it doesnt burn the bud it doesnt release any smoke or carcinogens associated with smoking. Cannabis needs a temperature of between 180 - 200° C. This is of course a much lower temperature than smoking bud.

I think I have covered most points on vaporizers but as this is a guide I would be more than happy for others to chip in there 2 cents.

Hope this helps atleast someone.
