Hemp farming seems like a double-edged sword to me.

On one side, it allows California farmers to get in on the hemp industry and hopefully lowers the price of hemp and makes hemp products more prolific. It may also help make it harder for helicopters to spot outdoor grows.

The other side, though, is the worry of cross-pollination for outdoor grows. And the major conflict of interests that will occur when cannabis is fully legalized, and hemp farmers and marijuana farmers are at odds with each other.

But definately a good step, as long as the governator gives his approval and other states follow suit.
