    Cloning?

I've been reading that a clone should be taken from a plant during the veg stage. But if during the veg stage, how do you know it's female you're cloning or are you just going by luck. I'm also curious how seed banks get their "feminized" seeds. Is there something they do to the seed or how can they tell it's a female?

If you leave a plant in the veg state long enough, it will eventually show preflowers before 12/12. Once you see pistils and know its a female, clone away. Or, you can take a clone from the mystery plant and put it into 12/12. Depending on the maturity of the plant you took the clone from, the sex will show in a few days to 2 weeks and youll know if you have a mother or a father.

    Cloning?

I found an answer for one of my questions "Sometimes a female plant contains male flowers, its rare but it happens. The male flowers on a female plant contain the same chromosomes as the female plant itself (X-X). This means that the Female plant can fertilise itself and can grow seeds that can only contain Female Chromosomes and thus grow female plants." But I still can't figure out how you can be sure you're getting a cloned female during the veg stage.

    Cloning?

In my case I am growing out 12 plants from seed and will pick out a mother plant. I will take clones from the plants before putting them in flower and once I put the mane 12 in flower I will find the females and only keep the labled clones that I took from the females.

the clone is female if the MUM is female, whether it is in veg or not...you have to wait until plant is 2-3 weeks old in veg. once you can take a cutting...you root the cutting and put it in 12/12 photoperiod...in a couple weeks it will tell you which plants are female.

I am moving this thread to where it belongs...peace
