The outer wrap is spiraled on. If you slice this with the inner layer, you have a bunch of seams that will need to be licked together on the edges. I prefer to unwrap the outer leaf starting from the mouth end. You need to lick it and follow the spiral back to where it starts and start carefully peeling it away. It's much easier with something that uses an actual leaf, like a Dutch, but I do it with Phillies on occasion, mainly because they are usually buy 1 box get 1 free.

Once you get the outer wrap off, set it aside for later. There is another piece of paper by the mouth end with a corrugated edge, peel that off and throw it away. Then I slice the inner paper along the glue strip. Toss the guts of the blunt then I peel out the glue strip. Cut the paper to the desired length of the blunt.

Then I roll a blunt with the inner paper. The trick to a smooth burning, long lasting blunt comes from the next step. Once its rolled with the inner paper, take the outer leaf and lie it out flat. Lick it all over the side that will be on the inside, make sure you get the edges. Some people rub some honey or syrup on the blunt to help it stick. Take your blunt and align it with the leaf (the same way it came off) and wrap it up around it like a sleeping bag starting at the tip, really cinching it down, but not so tight you pass out trying to hit it. Once you get to the end (mouth end) you can twist it up and cut it. Now you have a nice end to smoke from, just like the original cigar. It takes some time and practice but its worth it IMO. IF done correctly, the blunt is very durable this way and burns slow and even.

Ever thought it might be cos you cant roll? I mean, CAN you roll a joint?

I can get my joints to last half hour, sometimes more.

Saying that i smoke blunts too, either way.
