no, RA's are pretty much like parents. you can't do shit in the dorms. at my school, during finals week and the whole week before, they have quiet hour after 10 PM no matter what. no music can be on, no nothing. my school is pretty uppity though, its pretty much a college for teachers. if they catch you smoking weed they call the cops. same with drinking under age. you can't even be caught carrying it in or having it in any way. its honestly like having parents at college. i never lived there but visited there a lot because that's where the most people are. when my friend at iowa stayed in the dorms he almost got kicked out of the dorms for getting caught with booze twice. he never smoked in his room ever. a couple of my other friends did there but they had it set up with the bunk bed by the window and they had blankets so it was like an enclosed space on the bottom bunk and on the other end was a fan sucking out. unless you have something rigged up, i wouldn't recommend it.
