Probably another city - but smaller. Maybe in Virginia, or a similar place that's good to retire in - without extreme temperatures. We've got to start looking lest we wait too long. Any suggestions?

I think Virginia is beautiful. But if I lived in the northeast, I might also consider Vermont. Feels like the sort of place that'd be tolerant and open-minded and pretty, too. Assuming you like snowy winters.

I like the idea of retiring in the Pacific northwest. When I get through with med school in four years, we're going to look seriously at moving up there for me to do internship/residency (assuming I make it that far). I gotta get away from the Texas heat/drought and Bible-thumping conservatism.

That's what I meant - Vermont (not thinking tonight). I think we're on the same page about the heat/drought/Bible-thumping conservatism also.

I could take a little snow, as long as we're not too isolated.

BA, then consider Burlington, Vermont. It's got everything but you'd need to take up a winter activity... Summer and fall more than make up for it.

BTW You're allowed to hunt bible thumpers in Vermont, no limits

I like the Pacific Northweat too BG, I've thought about relocating to Oregon or Washington many times, maybe even northern Cali.

Im stuck on Long Island for the next 15-20 tho, I would never be able to move very far from my kids until they are pretty much self suffecient.

    Peace.

I wonder if they would stop being terrorists if we stop sticking our toes in their shit.
