My closet grow log! Please participate!
Hey everyone,
I'm getting really anxious to start my grow (1 week from today), so I'm gonna pass the time by starting up my log! haha I'll do weekly picture updates and hopefully I can get a number of expert closet growers to help me out along the way!
My setup will start with 6 bag seeds from some really good buds I recently got. I'm hoping to get 3 females. I will germinate each seed by placing them in a cup of water, and then I will put them right into 5 gallon pots with the highest quality potting soil I can buy locally. I'm going to be running 6 mini CFL's (60w per) which each give off 850 lumens for a total of 5100 lumens. The lights will consistently be held 2" above the tops of the plants. I'm going to use low stress training to try and get more buds from the plants, and if the first harvest goes well I am going to try and do a double harvest. I've heard that putting a brewing beer carboy with your plants will put off a good amount of co2 for them to use, if anyone has any suggestions about this please let me know cause I will be brewing beer in the next room over! I will use an 18/6 day cycle until I get a nice short bushy plant that can hold some massive buds
Thanks for reading the begginning of what is going to be an awesome journey for me! Please follow along with me! Sorry that I don't have any pics yet, I just can't stop thinking about starting this grow so I needed to do something related to it! haha Pics will be up in a week!

Hey!
Good news, today I got ahold of a Metal Halide Fixture and a 400w bulb. So I'll veg with my CFL's and flower with the MH. I know that HP sodium is the best for flowering but I figure the metal halide is better then fluoro right?? I got the setup very cheap (free). The fixture doesn't have a hood with it, so can someone please tell me an easy way to make a hood or something with like tin foil and wood maybe?? Also, how safe is it to strip the coating off an extension cord and wire the fixture to that, so I can just plug it in? I wouldn't mind keeping my house standing for the whole school year at least! haha
Thanks guys!

Go to the local hardwhere store and get a large circuler pan used for boiler water dranage it is about 15 to 18 in round then line it with tenfoil, dull side out because the shiny side will create hot spots and then use some macanical abilities to hook your bulb to it. For the corde, no it is not hard, people do it all the time. I have 2 1000w ballases rigged up with a cord that is spliced.
