    Riding out...

Big, I have found that by sticking to our happy little family here in the local forum, I've made a few good friends, and have avoided all the silliness that comes with arguing with people who get their jollies merely out of aggravating folks like you and me.

Heck, on this local board, several of us have VERY differing views on politics, but we get along great. Torog and I are good examples. I'd defend him to the end of the earth because he's good people. We don't agree on some things, but that doesn't mean we can't be friends.

You have been a really good guy on here. We have never had a one-on-one conversation or anything, but I've always had a lot of respect for the way you've conducted yourself on here. Birdgirl has a lot of respect for you as well, and she's A#1 in my book.

If you do leave us, I hope you'll drop me a line on email just to say hi. If you stay with us, we'll all be better for it.

Have a great evening and keep in touch.
    Onward!

As many times as you consider 2 minutes of your life to be worth potentially saving that of a 15 year old discussing these matters.

Do you post on any other boards? Do they not have their share of kids, troublemakers, and trolls too? I thought ignorance, foolishness, and the internet were kind of a package deal lol.

This board in fact might be an example of why "the movement" is not taken seriously, but not a reason- this board is a cross section of the smoker demographic, which unfortunately includes children, whether they post about it here or not. It is a reality that exists with or without this forum. So however minimal your influence is over those kids who do come here, and if indeed you

Onward, you're A#1 in my book, too! And thanks for putting things into your usual well-balanced perspective. I'm finding I feel better right now if I stay away from the aggravat-o-genic areas, too. I'm working hard at finding little oases of peace and tranquility where I can right now, and that's not generally in politics. (Here or elsewhere.) Your comments about our friend Torog hit home with me, too. I have similar deep affection and respect for Torog and yet we are different ideologically. There's something beautiful and peaceful and lovely about having differences yet still maintaining kind-spiritedness, and I wish more of our fellow board members could do the same. Heck, I wish most of the world's religions could, too.

Big Cal, I'm thrilled you'll be around a while longer. This place wouldn't be the same without you. You never fail to entertain, inform or charm me in some fashion.

I was recently told by one of the more distasteful members in another area that I tend to blow e-sunshine up people's behinds too much. This came from a woman-hating, not-very-bright, clearly deeply unhappy loser--someone who has had precious little acquaintance with women of any sort, particularly affectionate ones. At any rate, he gave me about two seconds of pause before I realized he was the one with the problem, not me. So let me simply say that I send much love and many kind regards to everyone here on the Texas board. I'm proud to count you guys among my friends.

Thanks Birdy. It's been truly great to meet so many really good folks on here.

I'm glad that you appreciate my Marty Feldman view of the world. I've got so many dear friends of all colors, religions, races, heights, weights, ages, and political affiliations that I just don't understand when people hate or dislike someone for any reason other than their actions. The actions of some people can certainly make me hate them. But none of us can help who gave birth to us, or what values or views they taught us growing up.

There used to be a guy in the political forum.......I can't recall his name...but he and I used to exchange really well-thought out thoughts on politics. We were 180 degrees opposite on almost every issue. But we never once had a negative or hostile word for each other. Nothing but respect. We are both proud of our country and our heritage, and when it comes right down to it, we'd both defend each other to the hilt.

Anyway, let's get back to more high level intellectual conversations such as what we're listening to right now on our ipod, or who can chug more cartons of chocolate milk without puking, or who has gotten to level 69 on the newest video game, or who has ever been caught by their parents holding up a Playboy with just one hand......

    Have a great weekend.
    Onward!
