getting that funky smell?

yo peoples,
im relatively new to growing and i am due a outside harvest within a month and what in have never been able to get good with growing weed is the drying and curing process and getting that skunky funky smelly green smell(you know what delightful smell im talkin about!)
any tips on how u good growers can achieve the good taste and smell?

so far my method has been dry in air for 3 days, cut off the air supply a bit and dry then until stem snaps, then move onto curing, any pointers on this?
