I know what you're talking about. The person shouldn't have made any personal attacks, he was warned. I don't think the person who banned him should have reacted the way he did though, the whole thing seemed really childish if you asked me.

Well, since I do see this as my problem, just as much as it is yours, I'll keep going until there is some sort of aknowledgement that what happened wasnt justified.

Allow one member to be banned in this manner and who is next?

After looking through the thread...I believe the politics forum is out of control and should be held to the same standards as the rest of the forums!

I feel that allowing one group of members to do as they wish is inappropriate, and confusing; As well as contradictory. Under Cdot's guidelines; If anyone should have gotten a Ban from that thread...It would've been Bong...But! The politics forum rules are squewed. We need to change that.

the thread in Question, would've/could've been an enlightening conversation, but the personal attacks and lack of respect for each other was rediculous...

I am personally going to try and have the current forum guidelines applied to the politics forum as well.

I think P4B does a hell of a job herding the cats. As for the snide and disrespectful comments (that's putting it mildly), the forum rules of engagement were voted on last month, and I voted to let the shit fly.

The down side of the liberal rules are that discussions typically flame after one or two reasonable counterpoints. To Latewoods point, I tend to agree to the extent that personal attacks should be banned. If someone can't intelligently... or unintelligently, attack the SUBJECT then they need to be somewhere other than internet forums.

Thank you for looking into this. I agree that the guidelines in that section are squewed, as you well know. I am also glad to see that I am not the only one who sees that the banning shouldnt have stopped where it did. On that topic I'll point out similiar remarks made in THIS section said to me, and, I dont believe the laxed rules are in effect in this section.

Please do hold the Politics section to the same guidelines, altho I voted to let the remarks fly, it isnt working. I believe in free speech, but I dont believe in bad communication.

I too find it sad that the conversations always end up in the gutter, but even then there is something to be learned from it.

I have no understandeing of Gumby's actions thruoght the rest of the board, nor do I know anything about his history here on the forum. My opion on this matter is taken from the statements I was present for. If he was going to be banned for other comments he made elsewhere, well, this I cannot defend.
