I like "The Cannabis Grow Bible', by Greg Green. That gave me enough info to grow. I accented that info with info from others on this website and overgrow.com (before it disappeared), but that book alone was really enough.

Don't be thinking it will be 'free' though. It ain't free. You have to buy the lights, dedicate a room or buy/build some cabinets, fans, odor control, pots, good genetics, buy/make something to facilitate cloning, and so on. Once you have a setup that works, then you still have to pay for consumables: soil, nutrients, electricity, bulbs, perlite, etc. I calculated my costs for consumables at around $700/year, and I don't have a particularly fancy or large setup.
