WTF Charcoal + Hookahs how do they work

arnt you supposed to put the charcoal ON the weed after its lit not in the top and turn the top upside down onto the weed?
They are putting the hookah bowl top peice upside down with a peice of lit charcoal in it.
Chaarcoal goes on the weed am i not right?

there is foil over what you are smoking, bud(waste) or the sheesha or however you spell it. then you light a piece of charcoal on both sides and put it on top of the foil. when you inhale, it will stay lit.

its a waste of weed to put it in a hookah though.

Nope, other way around. The hot charcoals go on the bottom of the bowl, and you put the herb on top of the lit charcoals. The herb will start to smoke quickly from the hot coals.

so what does that mean there is two ways to do it? well which way is the right way lol i need to know NOW lol befopr the bowl is dead

I'm sure there is more than one way to do it, but when I hookahed, I don't recall any tin foil.

My buddy just put the hot rocks in the empty bowl, then he put the herb right on top of the hot coals.

I'm just saying from my exp.

^^well that method would imply that you also inhale the burning charcoal.

what i would think you do is have a metal screen(or yea, tinfoil with holes in it) and have it sitting above the packed bowl. then once the charcoal is lit, you suck down and it pulls the flame of the charcoal down onto the bowl.

Putting the coal on top of the smokeable product is the traditional way of using a hookah (not directly on top, of course). It works because the heat from the coal is pulled past the smokeable and the smokeable is.. well.. smoked.

Maybe I just seen him do it wrong. Now that I do think of it, putting the coal right on top doesn't seem that...smart. Hey, that's just me being me though. Ahhhhh yes.

but then wouldnt that also mean that you inhale the caporized chemicals off of the aluminum foil? i dont know about you man but im a pot head not to much of a crack head. Been there done that.
