did anyone watch it?? It was one of the better finial tables in the past 5 years and loved watching it... I'm on the east coast and it went till about 6 in the morning but was still great...
Can't wait till ESPN shows the tapped versions and the hole cards are shown... i have a feeling Gold made some really nice moves with his stack... you could tell he was running the table all night... I was pulling for Allen, but he got bluffed pretty well by Paul... probably one of the best hands in the night
I'm playing in the one next month in Tunica and can't wait... it sucks nothing ever comes to this side of the country... but I guess it is full of Neo-Cons who think gambling will ruin the rest of the world...Gumby Reviewed by Gumby on . Wait, I'm pretty sure the tournament ends in like early June, and the ones ESPN shows are the taped versions. Unless you saw it on another channel, but still, it ends a lot earlier.
I remember seeing a blip last year on CNN Headline News and they showed the last 5 finishers out of nowhere. Luckily I forgot all their names by the time the shows ended on ESPN. But still haha, needless to say I was pissed off, but it wasn't that bad b/c last year it was mostly all fresh faces to the finish. (Say THAT 5 times fast!)
Good luck next month, though! What's the buy-in? Hopefully nothing like the $10,000 for the WSOP?

no this was the live Main Event for 2006... the tourny runs over a month with many smaller tournys and the Big $10,000 one lasted 12 days I think ... ending early friday morning (the 11th)
Hope I didn't spoil it I thought the news was out who won. ESPN had it on PPV live but wouldn't show the hole cards, for obvious reasons. But on the 22nd of this month they will show the taped version with the whole cards. The live was better last year and I'm guess this year as well because it's done by mainly Cardplayer and not ESPN.
Allen Cunningham was the only name at the finial table, which is one reason I liked it.. so I don't think you'll be disappointed cause it'll be like last years.
Um... in Tunica they have a $10,000 main event that feeds into the WSOP and is part of thier 'circuit' but I won't play in that unless I place in a smaller one. $500, I think is the lowest but I'm hoping to place enough to play in a few of the $1,000+ events. Omaha 8/B is my favorite game and I want to try for sure... It should be fun either way... I can't wait for it...

Yeah, just imagine if you could win enough tournaments to start making it a "career", lol. Good luck, and Omaha is a game I too enjoy!

Funny you say that... I was just fired from a pretty good job and am moving and have no idea what future job I should take. But in Nov/Dec of last year, before I was making a lot of money at work, I played 'professionaly'. I won a 400 person tourny and cashed about $10,000 over the 2 month period. I'm really thinking about testing my luck and skill again and seeing if I could do it for real. Just go on tour playing poker and stop at shows around the US along the way. After Roo this year and travling so much this summer I think it's a good possibility that I might by a Bus and go for it. But I think that's the weed talking for now. Well see though... I got time...
Plant do you play online at all?? I'm on a bunch of sites right now, but blew most of my recent money trying to get into the FTOPS. I saw vcpoker was giving away $35 and was gonna see what I could do with that for the online stuff until PokerStars starts their WCOOP.

I used to play more frequently at a couple sites, but over the summer I took it easy and tried to save as much as possible. However, I spent a little too much on festivals (and all the goodies that go along with it
) and weed, even after trying to save some cash. Lol, go figure.
