When you say that you need a pre-existing diagnosis, does these mean that my physician just needs to make a note of my anxiety or my pain or whatever, or does this mean that he has had to of prescribed me with something for it?
Also is the Oakland Co-op place the only place that you can get your medical card made from?
    Thanks again.
from wat it sounded like id guess he just needs to note it... but i dunno

haha yeah i understand that. i'd say still go for the medical card anyways. it's by far the safest way to get marijuana.

in answer to your question, yes you need to simply have your medical records handy when you go to the cannabis doctor. that means a written statement from your doctor stating your condition. he doesn't have to prescribe anything to you.

and unless you live in alameda county, then as far as i know you gotta go through the oakland cannabis buyer's cooperative to get the card. Alameda county has their own county identification system. I also think San Francisco has a city-wide identification system but i'm not sure.

i use medical cannabis for a number of different reasons. i have bipolar disorder, and that is what i mainly use it for. i should say, it keeps me stable but the price of weed is killing me. the cannabis club still charges street price, unfortunately.

you will find that when obtaining a recommendation through medicann, that it's relatively straight-forward and questionless. i honestly don't think they care if you abuse it or not (although it doesn't look good at all.. especially in court). But basically, if you have a pre diagnosis from your primary care doctor, then medicann is covered legally. so it's all good.

I don't know of any doctor that would give you a recommendation for "any old thing". Nor would I want to. You see, even if you have a letter, you can still be taken to court, and your freedom would rely much less on a little piece of paper than a legitimate medical issue. If you want it bad enough you could probably break your legs. Anything short of that, I think you're healthy enough.

Here is a list of medical conditions that are able to be assigned cannabis use: Conditions typically covered by the law include but are not limited to: arthritis; cachexia; cancer; chronic pain; HIV or AIDS; epilepsy; migraine; and multiple sclerosis

And yeah, it has to be pre-existing. You have to have a lot of paperwork done showing that you've tried different drugs but none have worked except for cannabis. Remember, eventually all those lies will catch up with you.
    you're my kind of person.

If you have medical insurance go to the doctor for depression. Act depressed and say you feel tired, social anxiety when around people, almost like you have nothing to live for. When the doctor gives you what the government wants you to be addicted to (prozac, shit like that), tell the doctor you have the side effects that are on the website. Take documentation that you saw a doctor for depression and head to your appointment. Pay the $125 and get the card and your set.
Don't listen to the people trying to talk you out of getting your shit legally. It's about you and your family. Don't burn your bridges and be stupid but don't be discouraged either. And you're right "you have the right to pursue happiness". Then you can try all the wonderful strains and foods, and not worry about the cops.
