In a hideously cruel response to an outbreak of rabies in late July, authorities in China ordered the killing of more than 50,000 dogs, 4,000 of whom were immunized against the disease. Officials clubbed many animals to death in the street right before their guardians' eyes, while others suffered gruesome deaths by poisoning or electrocution. Now the Chinese government has issued orders to kill an additional 500,000 dogs. None of these beloved companions will have the benefit of a humane death, because there isn't a single law in China that prevents cruelty to animals.

Please help urge the Chinese government to call of this planned massacre: CLICK HERE to learn more and to write a message to Ambassador Zhou Wenzhong. PETA president, Ingrid Newkirk, will personally deliver all of the letters to Mr. Wenzhong. After you write a message, repost this bulletin so that your friends can write in - the animals need all the voices they can possibly get!
