KNVB's first grow (indoor/closet, flouro); coaching welcome!
Hi Everyone, i'm about to embark on my first grow. I have 10 beans of Nirvana's Haze 19 x Skunk and plan to grow in one of my smaller closets. It doesn't have to be too stealth because I'm not worried about smell, so I haven't been planning on doing an airtight/container grow.
My closet space is 1m wide (3ft) x 2m long (6ft) x 2m tall (6ft). Is this too little of space? I have the cleaned the area with a cleaner and painted with flat white paint. I am thinking of mylar, too, to help out with the lumens i'll lose with just paint. I'm taking a page from Notorious P.O.T.'s thread (a great thread-'firts grow') and using flo's for my first grow, so I can get a sense of whether or not I enjoy it and whether i'll be dedicated before I spend the money on HPS.
I have a pretty good budget so I don't really have to skimp too much. I was thinking of growing just two ladies but I didn't know if I should germaniate 4 beans, just in case I didn't end up with females. I know Nirvana sells feminized seeds but I don't think these are. Anyone with specific experience with Haze 19 x Skunk? Ever smoked it before? I am a Haze fan but like skunk flavor and I read that this was a good sativa-dominant hybrid strain.
I will post pictures of my grow area soon and before I germinate the seeds.
Any coaching, opinions are welcomed!:thumbsup:KNVB Reviewed by KNVB on . KNVB's first grow (indoor/closet, flouro); coaching welcome! Hi Everyone, i'm about to embark on my first grow. I have been thinking of constructing a mylar-covered cardboard enclosure that would cover the entire closet space and use fans inside that with sidelights and the top open with a light over the top. Would that be effective?

Okay, seeds were germinated with wet paper towels in a ziploc bag on top of the fridge for 3 days. Planted them in small pots and put them under two 40 wt long flouro's yesterday. They have tripled in size in 24 hours in the pot--pretty amazing.

Quick question about ferts. I have read where some people begin using ferts early (before repotting and starting 18/6 veg) and others that recommend against it. Should I be using any additives or just straight h2o?
I was under the impression that its best to use ferts after repot and start of veg.

My little gals have doubled in size yet again. One week since I began germinating them, they're two inches tall with nice leafs forming.
Two quick questions. Should I leave them on 24/24 until I begin flowering them? I have read other CFL grows where the people did not veg with 18/6 (like the book says--maybe thats because its HPS/MH?) and just left the lights on constantly.
Anyhoo, I have two other CFL's that i'd like to add to the setup but was curious when the time would be right as they are still just small seedlings.
Any input would be lovely

I just ran some tests. My tap water sits at about 6.8 and my soil at 6.7.
My N-P-K are all "Sufficient" and not "Surplus".

Well my ladies (hopefully!) have been in their pots for 7 days now and are growing steadily every day. When is the right time to repot them? Any suggestions?
Here are a few pics.
