Leaf tips curling up - dehydration?
Hey guys, haven't received any feedback in the plant problems forum yet so I'll bring it to the real experts here in they hydro section.
Some of my leaf tips are curling upwards. They look dried at the tips and feel dry to the touch.
In addition, there are some discolorations on some of the leaves, not yellow or brown, just lighter/dryer shade of green. Almost as if the top layer of "skin" was peeled away...(bugs?)
Other than that the plants look great. The roots look & smell healthy also.
Yesterday morning I unhooked the planter (5 gal bucket with aeroponic sprinkler inside). I had to make adjustments to the resevoir which took a few hours. Although I lightly sprayed down the roots twice (once every 1.5-2 hours) with Ph'd water with just a drop of base nutes. I wonder if this caused some dehydration? Also, 2 soil plants around same age, same grow cabinet not showing signs of this...
These symptoms didn't take place until 12-16 hours after my maintenance (in the middle of the night).
Only other thing I can think of is that I sprayed the plants a little. Could the 40w CFL's about 4 inches away burned them through the water droplets?
All feedback appreciated.

Don't take this information as gospel.
I've seen similar spotting damage from a very small, thin white moth. I couldn't tell you what it was but the little critter could move fast. I spotted it and squished it. Never had those spots again.
Not sure on the curling, dried tip issue. I would think maybe heat, damaged leaf veins or root damage could be to blame. Doesn't look like its happening to the whole plant anyway.

Check the underside of the leaf for spider mites.
What Ph are you using. You could have another problem as well like a nutrient moble or immoble problem.
No the your flour light will not burn them. they don't put out enough light to cause that type of dammage.

Thanks for the feedback Zandor.
Checked for signs of spider mites - I'm pretty sure thats not it. Plus my soil plants in the same grow box were unaffected, which leads me to believe it was most likely in the water.
I'm using a chemical PH tester so its not 100% accurate, but I'm confident its between 5.5 - 6.2. I check it every morning and its been pretty consistent.
It must have been a change in the environment/water that day.
The good thing is in the past 3 or so days I have not seen any more signs of this problem and the plant has increased in size by about 25%.
