Will the Current Problem in the UK prevent Seed Vendors from Shipping to the U.S.?

Hey i woke up this morning and turned on the T.V and watched the Terrorist Plot thing on the News. They said that they are banning all liquids and small items that can be used as a weapons or bombs from the UK to the U.S. I would assume that they will also be tougher on mail that comes to or from the U.K. to the U.S. thus scaring the U.K. Seed Vendors into not shipping seeds to the U.S. because of legal issues. This would really suck because most of the Good SeedBanks are in the U.K....

    What do you guys think?

All post that leaves the uk is scanned and checked before it goes onto the plane and shipped to its various countrys. If the seeds are comming via mail order then this is a different type of mail depending who there carrier is. To find out if this will effect you in anyway, you can contact the seed bank and ask them if there shipping is affected due to the latest terrorist issue.

no country is going to shut down mail traffic, (at least letter-type parcels) in the interest of terrorist plots ... the world doesn't stop revolving due to disasters ... :smokin:

plus you gotta think even if they were to upgrade their mail sorting system it would be a long expensive process emphasis on long, but then again no one can ever really be sure what event brings about change i suppose....

Well i thought they would just "up" the security on mailing also. Like upgrade scanning machines and open suspicious envelopes to find any illegal things then repackage it. But i think doing that is illegal so I just wanted to know for future reference.

    Thanks alot Guys...

I dont know about the U.K., but here in in the good ole U.S.A. it would take the U.S.P.S. 5 years just to issue a bid package to upgrade any equipment. My company used to bid G.S.A. contracts, and it takes light years for things to happen. Plus, there is literally millions of pieces of mail daily. If anything, they are worried about updating airport scanners to detect liquid explosives right now. The terrorists were not sending out 3000 bombs to U.S. citizens via the Post Office. And 20-30 MJ seeds aint gonna wipe out 400-500 people. I think for now we are fine and its business as usual.

they'll be scrutinizing packages more in customs most likely but i really doubt if our small and thin mailings will be affected. i'm ordering from an english company soon and will report any probs...but like i said, i don't expect any but still looking to use my credit card (it speeds up the process and being legal in this state, a paper trail is a good thing, imnsho).

I ordered 10 seeds from buydutchseeds.com on 7/22 to U.S.A with no arrival as of today (8/18). Was wondering about customs seizing my stuff and being put on a list, pretty pissed about losing $80 also. I will update if I receive them though. Peace
