I understand the position you are in and sometimes in high school it can be difficult. Often times your friends are your BEST friends and their opinion does matter and you want to have good advice and get a warm feeling from your friends.

Here is the deal though. In order to make it work for yourself you have to hang out with the girl and date obviously. So my advice would be to hang out with the girl somewhat in private first. This is not to conceal your activity from your friends so that you don't look stupid in their eyes, but rather because its not really any of their fuckin business anyways.

This way, if it does work out with the girl you can break it in to your friends easily.

YOU: guys ive been hanging out with this girl for a few weeks now..you know her...Cindy Brumpledorf and she is pretty cool

DUDES: DUDE! you have been kicking it with her and you didn't even tell us!, thats fucked up man... isnt she kind of a lame ass anyways? etc. etc.
