This has been big news in the western world, and I think we're all just realizing how big now that it's Thursday night and has been played in the news all day. It's Americans who were very lucky that the Scotland Yard guys caught onto the liquid explosive terror plot. It's Americans, largely, whose lives were saved on those planes. We who 230 years ago broke free from England's rule now owe a big debt of gratitude back to that country for pulling our chestnuts out of the fire with superior intelligence and detective work.

They believe there are still four or five of the liquid-explosive wielding terrorists out there who've not yet been picked up. Those of us who're aware of that fact will likely be holding our breaths for a while. . . .
