For some reason, a certain bunny just caught my eye, I felt drawn to it, and it wasn't necessarily acting any different than the others, except, the others all ran away, and this one let me scoop him up. Instantly fell in love. Decided to buy him right then and there. I named him Aladdin, or Al for short.
I spent every waking moment with Al, he was my only friend for months. I even brought him to parties, everyone loved him, he would cuddle and sit still and spend hours licking your hand or face after you pet him on the head for awhile... And then one day, he's chilling with me on my bed like he always does, but I fall asleep. As I wake up, I shift my knee, it causes him to slip over the edge and injure his spine on the ground. It felt like a bad dream, I literally felt detached from reality. I had never expirienced death before, and all the other factors just... It was hell. I had caused the death of my only friend, the only "pet" i'd ever truly bonded with, the only source of inspiration to continue living life.
:stoned: :stoned: :stoned: Holy fuck that's mad good story telling. Everything was specific how you loved this pet.
And then the part where he dies and you chose really good diction by saying shit like it was a bad dream and detached from reality. I just know that feeling so well...

:stoned: LOL!!! Sorry, but did he die when you were already by the vet or at least close to it?
I read that story like he died because he saw the vet and panic got to him and his age and knocked him out dead. Saw that in a comedic way in my head. I imagined it like:

Car is in sight of the vet building. A very familiar place to the dog who had to painfully go to that shit for years. Pure memory of nothing but needles and examinations. He quickly realizes he is to be checked into the vet for the last time of his life before dying and he has to go through another of that bullshit? (Does a dog know he is ever being cured by the vet? I don't think my cat did..?)
EXTREME CLOSE UP SHOT OF DOGS EYES WIDENING WITH FEAR!!!
Medium shot of dog in the car giving his final yelp and falls on the seat real flat and dies quickly.

No more of that needle shit in my skin, mother-fucker.

I had a hamster die on me once when I was younger. We were rolling him around in his little ball them my bro put him in the dryer. Fucking douchebag.

Also had a few dogs get put to sleep. It's for the best though, if they're suffering.

I had a big golden retriever that i grew up with. My parents got it 2 yrs before i was born. when i was like 11, he died, going on his 13 years old. He died in the car while we were bringing him to the vet to put him asleep. Its by far the worst thing that happened in my whole life, a dog so kind like he was, it was like my best friend...I miss him sooo much and how we handled it...lets just say that it was just like if my brother died...

here are pics of him...he has alot of white hair in the face because of the age.. R.I.P.

In the last 18 years, we've had four dogs die, and two cats. Three of the dogs died of old age, one from liver cancer. One of the cats died from brain damage (she was abused by some kids at a schoolyard) about two years after we rescued her. The other cat that died, some dude was walking his pit bull through the neighborhood, and sic'd his dog on our sweet, gentle, trusting cat. (If I ever find out who that guy was, I have a baseball bat for him, but he's not been seen in our neighborhood since then.)

Sorry to say, there's no 'easy way' to get over it, if you were close to a pet that died. Mourning is a process, and you just have to go through it.

:sadcrying Yeah unfortunatly I lost a dog too, his name was Jayboy,he was asheep dog on our farm and for some reason he went wild.He went on a killing spree one nite and killed 3 sheep on someone elses property he was shot! by another farmer caught in the act. There was nothing I could do about it, its just the way it is in the country if a dog gets caught killing sheep.
