He thanks you for the heads up so he doesn't waste anymore time tending to this _real_ weed that somehow infiltrated the seed area and ended up on top of the soil. The real seed never germinated.

My friend pinched the seed and it squirted out a bunch of water and there was basically nothing else inside. Definitely immature or otherwise bad.

Could you tell it wasn't herb because the cotyledons weren't round enough?

He uses a mix of 50% perlite 25% vermiculite 25% peat moss It sprouted after 2 days and basically hasn't changed since. He found it on top of the soil and had to take emergency measures to poke a hole and get the root back in the mix. He waters it twice daily with a spray bottle and distilled water.
