harvesting question
This might be a stupid question, but I'm about to harvest and I'm not really sure where to cut? The buds on the top of the plant seem done but not on the rest of the plant, so i wanted to cut just the top. I'm just not sure where or how to clip down the buds? Any suggestions or do i just cut the whole plant down at the bottom? Thanks in advance

harvesting question
yea, the buds at the very top of the plant have more brown pistels appearing now than white, while the buds at the bottom are still virtually white all over. I saw in some other posts that I could trim off the buds that were mature but I'm not sure where to cut. Do I just take clippers to the main stem of the plant and cut?

The harvest is controled by the trichomes. Do you understand the trichome concept?

harvesting question
Yeah going by the hairs is not the way. Everytime they get brushed handled for whatever reason that can kill them. Also on my outdoor grows I do a double harvest. I just cut the top main cola or colas off and let the plant go another week and than finish it up. Last summer I had 5 plants and I just opened my last quart size jar of stash from last September. I went to the club yesterday to get some melt and got some trainwreck.

harvesting question
the only problem is that microscopes are very expensive here in Switzerland and we don't have radio shack to buy little pocket one. All i see is big ones. Will a magnifying glass work? And where are the trichomes? on the leaves or pistels?

the trics are near the buds, and spill over onto the leaves, they are the sticky crystally things, yes a mag. glass will help, just look at them in real natural daylight (otherwise the color may be skewered)

harvesting question
Here's some closeup pics of some trichomes, taken today, after 50 complete days of flowering. As you can see, the majority of them are still clear, so the plants need more time to grow. And I also have lotsa red hairs everywhere. Nevertheless, red hairs or not, the plants aren't done, as can be seen from the clear trichomes, which are still in the majority. The pics were taken with a digital camera in conjunction with a 30x jeweler's loupe (which you can get via ebay). I just held the loupe in front of the lens, and got the best focus I could, with the camera set on macro.
