Can you use leaves to cook?
In short: yes. But the amount of THC in the leaves is so low that you would need a HUGE amount. And if you have that much, you would really be better off making bubble hash w/ trimmings. But yes, if you somehow managed to get a quarter pound or so of leaves, you could cook with them, but you better be one hungry mamma-jamma, because you're going to need about 5 sticks of butter to get the effects. Not really worth my time personally, but it's up to you.

Can you use leaves to cook?
Now the long answer:
I don't completely agree with JDiz. If done right pot butter or cooking oil is the most efficient ways to utilize an otherwise worthless bag of leaf. I mean everything he wrote sounds right except for the fact that most people make pot butter with shake or leaf NOT bud. That is the whole point. I agree that Bubble bags are indeed the way to go with good leaf or shake with actual trichromes, but bubble bags rely on a particular size of resin head settling on a particular size silk screen. With a big bag of miscellaneous leaf you have underdeveloped trichromes heads as well as broken and smashed ones too. Granted a good bubble bag set has several sizes of screen so you will get it at some level, but Bubble bags do take a while to return their investment. They are however a must for the dedicated hobbyist. But this solution is for a smoked result not an eaten one.
I am assuming you are not planning on eating the actual vegetation but making butter right? 1oz is fine just get a good recipe.
Keep in mind that what we are doing here is getting the oil based resin that the leaf contains to release itself (Ok I am not a scientist) into the butter. Since both are oils after some cooking they will merge and the result will be thc in your butter. Also as THC in its raw form doesnâ??t get you very high, the cooking activates it. Further if you put water and butter in your boil the chlorophyll will attach to the water, the TCH to the oil/butter and after chilling you can confidently pour off the nasty green water knowing you have most of the good stuff.
