Should my baby look like this?
Hey, this is my first post, on my first grow ever.
For now I've got 4 little guys (well, hopefully little gals) just sitting in the window until I get my closet set up in 2 weeks. I just checked over my plants because I'll be leaving them for 5 days, & I noticed something a little strange. . .
my plant in the blue party cup has been growing leaves with 3 rounded leaflets, no serrated leaves, on the bottom few internodes, whole the top is growing normal 7-leaflet serrated leaves. Is this normal? The picture is very bad but you may be able to see what I'm talking about. . .
Also, just a question about the bigger one (in the 2 liter bottle, also pictured from top) . . . does that look like it may be time to sex it? or should I let it veg for a little longer?Johnny Cannabis Seed Reviewed by Johnny Cannabis Seed on . They look "O.K."
You blue cupped one was topped way too early in my opinion. Looks to be suffering from either pH problems or it needs to be transplanted.
Are you measuring the pH water to 7.0?
Also, you need to get them into some real containers. THe light is burning thru them and they dont like that too much.

Well I wasn't planning on topping it, the stem broke accidentally.
As for the leaves, I over-fertilized them & they got nute-burn, so I flushed them & they've been recovering. What exactly do you mean by "the light is burning through them"? Should I put them into something more opaque, you mean?
I know this is a half-assed attempt, but I'm living at my girlfriends for now & didn't have the means to set up a growroom here, & didn't wanna run up her electricity bill. I'm just hoping they do alright for a week & a half until I can get them into a much more marijuana-friendly envioronment.

Your plants are WAAAAAAAY too small to be adding ferts of anything at this time.
You gotta keep the pH as close to neutral as possible at this stage.
I mean by the light....you need to get them into a darker soil container. Something that will buffer the heat and light from those soil containers.
No more nutes.
pH 7.0
Transplant into real flower containers, slightly larger than you are using now.
Get a fan on them at the top.
Make sure you put gravel or lava rock at bottom of container when transplanting.
Good luck.

about a month. . . I know they're way behind where they should be, but I had so many seeds I figured I'd germ some now for a trial run to get to know cannabis better as a plant
soon I'll have them under 4 135W CFLs, so hopefully they'll make a turn for the better, if not I've got enough beans to start over with my newly aquired knowledge

You are in no way needing to start over. Just get them in an environment they will thrive in and you'll be fine.
You've passed the hardest part already.
Now get them growing...transplant and follow the rules and they shall bear fruits.

ffs Hardon....You're making me want a monitor that I can jump through and come out on the other side of right into that field-o-pot ya got there.
Bad enough though that I'm here licking the screen and getting sweaty paw prints all over it.

Once I get them under the CFLs, any estimates as to how much longer I should give them before it's time to 12/12 them?
