Not to be gung ho religion but more than likely Jesus did at least 'exist'. His assertations are pretty much half truths (he's right about many of the influences n' such) but the rest is just conspiracy theory similar to the 9/11 fooey getting tossed about on the politics threads.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's certain that the story of Jesus wasn't based on a real person, but there isn't exactly sufficient evidence to convince me that it was. There are no reliable unbiased records of his existence from within the lifetimes of potential eyewitnesses. Even the Gospels don't show up until about four decades after Jesus' supposed death, and the story shares stunning similarities with pagan mythologies and other savior cults of the time.

You seem so sure of yourself when you can't possibly actually know the truth. No one does. Just let people believe what they want. It's not gonna make a difference in the end.

I personally believe in Christianity. It doesn't make a difference to me if it's all true or not. The fact is that it lets me lead my life in a positive and respectfull way... And that's all that matters IMHO.

No actually im not sure of myself at all. I have no idea what life is all about, but reason and reality render Christianity very suspicious to me

Im not going to argue with you about this, beleive me ive done it with family members and friends enough to know that everyone has there own opinion.

Im content not knowing what happens when you die, but i dont need a book to let me lead my life in a positive and respectful way, i do that because thats how i hope others will do the same, not because im afraid of going to "hell"
